Above the Kitchen Cupboard Part II

Today I woke up to Tornado and Flash Flood Warnings! Not exactly how I wanted to spend my day, especially after having been sick for three days and nights. We are safe and sound though and I spent the day straightening up and doing laundry. It's amazing how the house looks after a few days of mommy being on the couch or in bed lol....

On with the Kitchen Cupboard!

I purchased the mirror stand at a Garage Sale a couple years ago for $2.00, it is Home Interior!
The white picture I purchased from my Aunts Garage Sale for $3.00
Blingy candle stand was a $2.00 Goodwill find
The little girl on the swing with a bird perched on her hand was also a Goodwill find for .50
Birdhouse, nest and stand were all thrifty finds.   

I just LOVE this birdhouse!! The bottom is out of it which allows me to use it like a cloche. I placed a little bird from the Dollar Tree on a nest underneath and the cat who is carefully watching the bird belonged to my Mamaw. The little bluebird is very thankful to be on the outside looking in!!     

I found this cute little tray at the Goodwill for $1.00!
I have not looked up the wording on it yet so I sure hope it is G-rated!! lol....

A Pink Vignette for Pink Saturday!

Yankee Candle was having a really great BOGO sale for Presidents Day so I picked up a couple of their small jar candles in scents that I have not tried before. This one is Home Sweet Home and I love the spicy aroma it brings. 

I picked up this bottle of Pink Grapefruit Italian Soda the other day  while shopping at  Whole Foods Market. I LOVE Grapefruit and the bottle was so pretty I couldn't resist. I'm hoping that it taste as good as it looks!

This little Decadent eye candy was purchased at Hobby Lobby on  clearance for $1.38

Such beauty a flower holds......

Dreaming of Spring Tablescape

It is a very dreary day here in East Louisville...the sun is nowhere to be seen and it's a bit on the chilly side. I think we are supposed to be getting some rain as well. However, there is definitely some sunshine and warmth in my dining room!


I pulled out a tablecloth that I purchased at Goodwill for $2.00 and decided to build a tablescape around it. I just loved the tablecloth as soon as I spotted it, so bright and cheery with it's bold floral print and fun stripes. I've had it for awhile now but this will be her first debut.


I had everything I needed for the setting except the flowers so, after a quick trip to Walmart and about 20 minutes of my time later the table was set.

Small vintage saucers were .25 ea at Goodwill

Blue dinner napkins were $2 for a set of 8 at a Flea Market

Small vases were .55 ea at Goodwill

Stemware $1 ea at Goodwill

Flatware was $3 for a service for 6 plus 2 serving pieces

2 tall vases were $1.25 ea at Goodwill

Red votive's were a Christmas Gift from my Brother and SIL

I think this one is really fun, I love the heart shaped pocket. I paid .50 for this at a Flea Market.  

I purchased this one at the Goodwill just a few weeks ago and it was $1.50

This is one of my favorites! I love the pocket made of roses....This one was also .50 at the same Flea Market as the first one.

Above the Kitchen Cupboard Part I

I have decorated my kitchen in birds and I'm just LOVING it!

This is the first of several posts that I will be doing on my kitchen and my sweet birds.

This is actually a box, I just opted to have it standing instead of filling it with items that couldn't be seen.
I purchased it at Cato for $2.99 on clearance!

The turquoise birds also were purchased at Cato and they were only $1.99 each!
The green birds sitting on the candlesticks were purchased at Gordmans for .99 each!
I just LOVE them!!

This little stand was purchased at Big Lots for $7.99

So, this is what is in the middle section above the cupboard.
You may remember the green shutter from Christmas. I had used it as a card holder and now it has a place in the kitchen.
I just love it when an item can be used for more than one purpose!!

Pink Chiffon Party at B&BW

Last Saturday I attended the Valentines Day Pink Chiffon Party at Bath & Body Works.

Pink Chiffon is one of their many new fragrances and I just LOVE the smell of it!!

I was already excited about going and when the invitation said to wear pink well, that made it even better! 

I am joining Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for Pink Saturday!

So, I pulled out my pink fur jacket and my pink fluffy gloves.

Added a sweet little pin.

And went shopping!

I purchased a body spray.

A body lotion.

And all of this!
 With my coupons and their sale all of this was $20!

I entered a drawing for a trip to Hawaii, voted for my favorite new fragrance and got to wear pink!
It was a Plum Perfect afternoon!
