It was a very HOT 104 today! Can't believe the high temps we have been having so, we have kept ourselves busy indoors this week.

I am joining Thrifty Things Friday at The Thrifty Groove, this is my first time to attend this blog party and I'm looking forward to seeing all the goodies that everyone has found!

This sweet little Tea Set was at the local Goodwill and I just loved it! It may end up being a gift for someone else though :)

Love the victorian style of this!

This is a Teapot Tealight Holder also from the local Goodwill!

What a bargain!

I thought this one was really sweet, it was only $2.00

This set came from a Goodwill in Maysville, Ky and the whole set was $5.50!!

Pretty Pink Porch Setting for Tablescape Thursday

I have been wanting to do a setting on the porch for awhile now but the weather here has just been soooo hot and it's been so dry. However, I went ahead and tackled a small setting for two.

It was a bit windy so my plates kept sliding and you will notice a Big Ole' Blooper but non the less here we go!

****Picture to small? just click on the picture to enlarge the size****

I put some throw pillows down inside vintage pillowcases and folded the top over and pinned the sides.

Blooper??? Yep! forgot to place the flatware on the table.....
I used a vintage flat sheet for the tablecover, vintage glass plates from a snack set with a pretty rose floral paper plate on top with matching napkins.

Ice cold cherry limeade with some mini red velvet cakes with cream cheese frosting.
The stemware from my Mothers Day Tablescape match Plum Perfect!!

The little matchbox in the corner slides open and you can fill them with mints or candy of your choice. Great to use for favors!

Thanks for visiting!

Before & After of My Living Room~Part II~

I'm going to try and make a long story short!

We moved into our home two and a half years ago, it was not our "first choice" home. Our first choice was a beautiful home with a green house and a library and tons of extra storage and all the things on our list. Everything was going smooth until....dum dum dum dum......The Home Inspection and guess what? A very bad 4 letter word *MOLD*  SO, at the time we were in corporate housing and thanks to all the time that we had spent on Mr. Mold we now had 2 weeks to find a new house. Thus leads us to the house we are currently in, a small ranch style home on a dead end street with THE BEST neighbors anyone could ask for. We love the area but the house well....not so much. You can make any house a home and this has been home for two and a half years but now we are moving to Louisville and hoping this time we will be able to find the home that we want.

SO, I am going to share with you the living room before and after. It is simply amazing what a can of paint can accomplish!

YIKES!

Awe! Small Prince was just 2 and 1/2

Those walls were painted QUICKLY! lol...

*******DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!*******

Ahhhh so much better!!
The living room furniture was my Mothers Day gift last year from Darling Dear and I just LOVE it.
Our goal was to take up the carpeting and put hard wood down.

I'm still looking for lamps to place on the end tables.

Normally the curtains are drawn back but with this 100+ weather the house stays much cooler with them down.

Another tealight lamp that was a Goodwill find for $2.00.

I recently put together a Bird Tablescape for Between Naps on the Porch and as promised here is the Part II. This week I am linking to Marty's Table Top Tuesday. Please stop by and visit her for so many wonderful creations and inspiration!

The two dish towels were a birthday gift from my parents this year. I just loved them and they look so well with the rest of the setting.

This wooden box was purchased at Cato for $3.99 on clearance!

I came across this sweet little girl in a swing at the local Goodwill for $1 and I just had to bring her home.

These sweet little birds also came from Cato and they were on Clearance for $1.99

Tea towel from Goodwill .50

The picture stand was a Big Lots purchase and was $8! The shabby bird house was a Goodwill find and it was $1.

Tea Pot was purchased at a Habitat in LaFollette, Tn

The Complete look of the Buffet / Wall that is currently in my Dinning Room. I plan on leaving the bird theme and the Birds of a Feather Tablescape in there for the home showings.

Thanks for "flying" by! I hope you will visit again soon!

My Turquoise & Chocolate Living Room

Wow! it is a very warm 102 outside today so....I have been doing work inside the house today which has consisted of some more packing and a little cleaning. Small Prince and I have played some Go Fish, Crazy 8's and I spy and after lunch was over I decided to take a break and do a post on my living room!

Turquoise and Chocolate Brown seems to be the craze right now and I just LOVE the two colors together so I'm going to share some of my living room highlights with you today! Thanks for stopping by and Enjoy!

I found this cute little picture at a Goodwill in Tn and it was still in the packaging! I paid $10 for it.

This was one of those Walmart gift sets that they have at Christmas. It was filled with popcorn and other snack items, I bought it on clearance for $4.00 and it just matches the picture perfectly!!

My throw pillows are from Walmart as well and they are Better Homes and Garden. I believe that they are $12.00 each.

The matching curtains!

I just love the trim!

Rug is also from Walmart, $40

I found two of these at the local Goodwill and they were $1 each, they are on the coffee table.

I found this little tealight lamp at a Thrift Store in Tn for $2 several years ago, I just love it.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I will have a Living Room part 2 coming up so stop back by!!
