Sango---Green & Black Tablescape

A very simple glass candlelight centerpiece is all that's needed for this evening dinner tablescape.
To tie in the color of the green on the plates I added some long beaded stems and shaped them around the glass.

I just love my beautiful stemware that I received as a Hostess Gift from Princess House years ago. I hosted a party for a friend and was able to get the stemware for FREE. (Tip) Having a home show/party is a great way to get some of your favorite items for little to no cost.

The beautiful Sango plates with the ever so lovely Lily pattern was a terrific Goodwill find.
All they had were the plates and saucers BUT they were .50 each!!
~~LOVE~~
I also like the square shape of the plates with the rounded edges.
Sometimes it's nice to have something different from the everyday circle plate shape.

These gorgeous black wavy square plates were FREE!!
I got them from a lady on Freecycle.
For those of you that have never heard of Freecycle it is a yahoo group that allows people to post items that they want to give away for FREE only. It started out being a way for people to pass along good usable items to keep them going to the landfill.
I have seen all sorts of things listed on there, and of course I give away items as well to return the favor.
And, it's all FREE!

The circle plate that I am using as a charger was a Flea Market find and they were on a clearance table  for .60 each.
They worked out perfectly for this setting.

My tablecloth is nothing more than a $5.00 sheer curtain from the Family Dollar Store.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope your day is Plum Perfect!!

Vegetable Garden Tablescape & A Recipe!

I have been collecting items for this tablescape for several months now
and I'm very pleased with how well it turned out!

The vegetable pick is from Michael's Craft Store in the $1 bin, and the greenery sprays  I found at Goodwill for $1.50 each.
When I got them home I found Walmart tags on them for $7.99 each!

The Aunt Jenny's Peas jar belonged to my Mom and I have had the S&P set for several years but they were also a Goodwill purchase--I forget how much.

These were a MUST for this tablescape, I found these at Michael's Craft Store as well.
Too cute!!

The red and green flower shaped plates were a yard sale find for $2.
I thought they helped pick up the colors in the tablecloth.

The napkins are actually kitchen hand towels that I cut in half  so that I would have four of them instead of the two that I found. You can read about the towels HERE.

This stemware is from my wedding.

My tablecloth was a Goodwill find for $2.50!!

The cabbage bowls were purchased at Goodwill as well. $6 for the large serving one  (I have it upside down for my centerpiece) and 8 small ones. What a great deal those were!!

The asparagus dish I purchased at the local Peddlers Mall for $4

This is a recipe for Skinny Taco Dip!
I have it pinned on my recipe board on Pinterest.
You can go HERE to see other recipe's that I have pinned!
I'd love to have you as a follower and I'd be happy to follow you back as well.

  • 8 oz reduced fat sour cream
  • 16 oz jar mild salsa
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 2 cups iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 2 large tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cup reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2.25 oz black olives,
In a large bowl combine cream cheese, sour cream, salsa and taco seasoning andmix well with an electric mixer. Spread on the bottom of a large shallow glass dish.Top with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese and black olives. Serve with baked tortilla chips.
