A Fallen Soldier, Hero and a Friend

Dear Friends,It is with much sadness and with a heavy heart that I write today....

I received word yesterday that the soldier killed in Afghanistan on Sunday was a dear friend of mine and my family. A very young man at the age of 20, newly married for a month and a half, the youngest son in his family gave his life for his country and for our freedom.

I was in a total state of shock and felt numb the entire day. I shed many tears and my heart continues to ache for his parents, his siblings, his friends and new bride.... my thoughts went to my own son who is only 5yrs old but just at the thought of how gut-wrenching it would be to lose him. And then my thoughts went to our Lord who freely and willingly gave his only son to die for our sins, and Jesus being willing to do his Fathers bidding. This young man was a saved born again believer and has entered into Heavens Gates and I know I will see him again one day.

Please keep this wonderful family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of great loss. Pray for all of our soldiers and their families...say "THANK YOU" to a soldier today whether he/she is currently serving or has served in the past.

Dustin, you will be greatly missed.....

  1. It's tragic that he lost his life so young but I know he died defening freedom and doing what he loved. I remember he always dressed up in Camos and would play "soldier".
Dustin, you were my friend and I am proud to have known you! Rest In Peace my friend, I will see you again one day!

  3. This is so sad- I lost a nephew in Afghanistan four years ago-his little girl was six months old. He called or got on the computer every night to sing her to sleep. I hate war, wish that people ccould all get along and live the right way.

  4. Wow, so sorry for the loss of a friend. We just lost a young man up here too. I didn't know him but in a small community bad news travels fast. It really grounds you when such tragedies occur. I pray this war and the loss of any more will come to an end quickly. Prayers for you and his family.

  8. What a terrible waste. I never understood exactly why we had to send our loved ones there. So very young and an awful loss.
