Another Angel in Heavens Choir.....

A couple weeks ago I posted about a very dear soldier friend that we lost. On the morning of his viewing we received a call that my Aunt Roxanne (my moms sister) had passed away. She had been sick for many years....she had liver cancer and lupus just to name a few. She started going down hill very quickly in the last 6 months or so. I was able to make a trip and see her back in October, little did I know it would be the last time I would see her alive.

Having two viewings and two funerals in one weeks time was extremely rough. We know that both Dustin and my Aunt were saved, born again Christians and have entered Heavens Gates and are now strolling on streets of gold. We have that assurance that we will see them again but it is still hard knowing that they are no longer with us.

Please keep the families of these two very dear people in your thoughts and prayers.

We love and miss you Roxanne....

A Fallen Soldier, Hero and a Friend

Dear Friends,It is with much sadness and with a heavy heart that I write today....

I received word yesterday that the soldier killed in Afghanistan on Sunday was a dear friend of mine and my family. A very young man at the age of 20, newly married for a month and a half, the youngest son in his family gave his life for his country and for our freedom.

I was in a total state of shock and felt numb the entire day. I shed many tears and my heart continues to ache for his parents, his siblings, his friends and new bride.... my thoughts went to my own son who is only 5yrs old but just at the thought of how gut-wrenching it would be to lose him. And then my thoughts went to our Lord who freely and willingly gave his only son to die for our sins, and Jesus being willing to do his Fathers bidding. This young man was a saved born again believer and has entered into Heavens Gates and I know I will see him again one day.

Please keep this wonderful family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of great loss. Pray for all of our soldiers and their families...say "THANK YOU" to a soldier today whether he/she is currently serving or has served in the past.

Dustin, you will be greatly missed.....

New Years Tablescape

Ah....the New Year has started off well and I'm looking forward to all the many things that are to come. The good as well as the bad because it's in those "down in the valley" times that we learn and become stronger.

So! the first setting for 2012 is my New Years Day Tablescape. I wanted a crisp, clean and classic look so I went with Black, White & Silver.

LINKING TO: Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday!
                           The Tablescaper for Seasonal Sundays!
A Stroll Thru Life  for Tabletop Tuesday!

I started with a Black & White Damask material to cover my table.

Black Napkins are from a Thrift Store in Jacksonville, AR
Silver Napkin Rings are from the Goodwill.

I just LOVE these drinking glasses!!
Purchased at the Goodwill here in Louisville for $1.00 each!! (insert squeal here) lol...

Here are my Antique Square Cut Glass Plates that I also purchased at the Goodwill in Arkansas, they were $2.00 each!!

White Square Dinner Plates are from the Dollar Tree!!

The square dishes with the silver lids are from a vintage serving set that I picked up at a Flea Market in Jacksonville, AR
Inside is a Fortune Cookie!!
This one said "You may lack ambition, but not the ability to succeed" hmmmmm lol......I don't think its a lack of ambition its more like a lack of TIME!!

Square Silver Chargers were purchased at a Flea Market in Jacksonville, AR.

I wish you all a very happy and blessed New Year!! Thanks so much for stopping by!
